Board of Directors

The Do For One Foundation is run by an all-volunteer board.

Laura Boyd

Board member

Laura has been learning from our friends in El Niño and building relationships through the Irvine Presbyterian Church / Shepherds Grove El Niño student sponsorship ministry since 2001.  She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in accounting and then USC with an MBT.  Laura and David have been married 35 years and have 3 children.

Scott Bullock

Board member

Scott is an ordained Presbyterian minister who has served churches in Illinois, New Jersey, and California. He holds an MA in New Testament Studies from Wheaton College, an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a ThM in New Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary.

He currently serves as a contributor and consultant to The Pastors Workshop, an online subscription service of curated preaching and teaching aids for preachers and Christian communicators.  Scott has worked closely with pastors in Baja over the last decade and is an active student sponsor. He is married to Britta and they have three teen-aged children.

Mark Kasperowicz

Board member

Mark is a former IT Executive and continues to work with companies to provide IT solutions for their business needs. Mark has been a follower of Christ since his youth. Mark and his wife, Laura, were blessed to attend several missions trips to Mexico.

He appreciated the opportunity to build homes, install playground equipment, act as education sponsors, and meet the wonderful people of the El Niño community in Tijuana, Mexico. His sons participated in some of the trips and it helped them grow in their faith and their awareness of other cultures and communities. Mark and Laura continue to be part of the outreach team for the Shepherds Grove

Carlos Alcazar

Carlos J Alcázar

Board member

Carlos has been a language teacher for 20 years, has a master’s degree in Spanish and a master’s degree in Education, and his bilingual skills give him the ability to communicate directly with the target communities and function as a link between them and the ministry.

Having familial ties and friendships in his native Mexico gives him an insight to the needs of these communities. After being led by the Lord to begin sharing his many blessings, Carlos‘ life has become more purposeful. He feels that being part of a ministry that helps families with educational resources and spiritual growth is a blessing as we are sharing the love of God.

Jeriann Severson

Board member

Jeriann’s upbringing prioritized service and faith, influenced by her mother’s work at a bilingual school on the Texas-Mexico border. Joining Mariners Church in 2005, Jeriann’s teenagers began participating in ministry trips to Mexico and her son initiated sponsoring a student in 2009 when he landed his first job. Jeriann herself started sponsoring students, joined trips to meet them, and eventually became the day trip leader for the Mexico Ministry.

Her heartfelt passion is to nurture global church connections by taking others across the border and to witness the profound, life-altering effects of sponsoring students.

Originally from Wisconsin, Jeriann pursued broadcast journalism in Minnesota and earned a degree from the University of Minnesota before co-founding a video production company with her husband, Clark. Working together for 36 years, they deliver services to corporate clients and produce media for “Un Mensaje a Conciencia,” a Spanish media ministry. They have four grown children.
